Texas Department of Criminal Justice Officer Susan Canfield, 59, was murdered Monday afternoon, September 24, 2007 near the Wynne Prison in Huntsville, Texas. She was struck, while on horse back, by a vehicle stolen by two escaped convicts that she was trying to apprehend. Officer Canfield is survived by her husband, Charles, a Houston Police Officer and three grown children.
