Officer Charles R. Clark, age 45, was shot and killed while responding to a robbery in progress call at the Ace America’s Cash Express in the 5700 block of the South Loop. Both he and a store employee, Alfredia Jones (27), were killed by shots to the head from a trio of armed robbers who fled the scene. The suspects, Dashan Vadell Glaspir (21), Elijah Dwayne Joubert (23), and Alfred Dewayne Brown (21), were apprehended and charged with Capital Murder.

Officer Charles R. Clark was a twenty (20) year veteran of the department. He is survived by his wife, Hilde Clark, of Willis, Texas, and mother, Mrs. Ina Clark, of Lufkin, Texas.
