Officer David F. Noel and his partner, Officer J.R. Davis, were working a uniformed extra job at Castillo's Lounge, 316 N. Nagle. A disturbance occurred and Officer Noel approached the suspect, Paul DeLeon. Deleon pulled a knife and stabbed Officer Noel. He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital but was declared dead on arrival from his wounds.
